SERIES 4

Africans Of The Diaspora

It all began with a trip to the hair salon

Part 4 of the captivating "Africans Of The Diaspora Series" introduces two sisters, Vanilla Nwojo and Purple Nwojo. Vanilla is not only a model but also a talented vlogger, while her sister, Purple, showcases her creative prowess as a model and Creative Director. In this installment, the focus shifts to a trip to the hair salon, unveiling the diverse beauty of hair in a refreshing setting.

Contrasting with the mystical and enchanting portrayal of Afrocentric hair in Part 3, Part 4 immerses us in the natural and contemporary ambiance of an African hair salon. The intention behind this shoot is to showcase the inherent allure of the everyday ritual of hair care, blending modern elements with Afrocentric aesthetics. The chosen backdrop for this captivating experience is none other than Moore Street, Dublin, where two remarkable hair salons steal the spotlight.

Enhance: The editing of the pictures beautifully captures the contrasting tones, symbolizing the process and aftermath of the photoshoot. The model, a willing participant, agreed to showcase her stunning hair, which took center stage. The deliberate use of distinct tones effectively conveys the sensory experience of having the braids tightly woven, initially leaving a sensation of warmth, heaviness and tightness. However, as the final touches were completed, a soothing and cooling effect gradually settled in, offering relief and satisfaction.
